AIDIPSOS - SAINT DAVID - LAKE EVIA, AIDIPSOS

After breakfast, we will visit the historic Monastery of Saint David of the Elder in Rovies. This is a post-Byzantine monastery set in an imposing landscape, founded in the 15th century by Saint David and renovated in 1877.

The monastery has fountains with crystal-clear water both inside and outside, situated in the heart of a beautiful, densely wooded area dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Savior. We then depart for Limni, a small town in northern Euboea known for its Aegean atmosphere. Limni is situated by the sea and next to Mount Kantili. Its pine-covered slopes were largely burned in the summer of 2021, but even so, the view that unfolds before us is impressive. As we approach, the village unfolds before us, with the white buildings and tiled roofs standing in stark contrast to its now darkened appearance. We will walk along the famous seaside road, the one that fills with people enjoying a stroll in the summer. Free time for coffee and a meal at the many cafes and taverns. Return to Edipsos in the afternoon. Time to rest. Dinner. Overnight stay.

AIDIPSOS – SAINT JOHN THE RUSSIAN – CHALKIDA – LARISSA

After breakfast, it’s time for one last dip in the thermal pool or a coffee with a view of the sea. Departure for Prokopi, home to the famous Church of Saint John the Russian. Saint John the Russian, known for his deep faith and miracles, is one of the most beloved saints of Orthodoxy. His incorrupt relics, which were brought from Prokopio in Asia Minor after the Asia Minor Catastrophe, are now kept in the village of the same name on Euboea and attract thousands of pilgrims every year. Prokopi is a picturesque village surrounded by greenery, with plane trees, stone bridges, and small taverns offering local delicacies. Here we will have time for pilgrimage and lunch (at your own expense) at a recommended local tavern. Next, we’ll head to Chalkida, the capital of Euboea and a favorite getaway spot for Athenians and others alike!!!! We’ll stop for an afternoon coffee by the sea, with a view of the Euripus Bridge and the turquoise waters that change direction—a unique natural phenomenon seen only here! We’ll return to our city in the evening, filled with beautiful memories.
