Tour participants will meet at the Central Square and depart at 8:00 a.m. After a brief stop along the way, we will continue our journey to the shores of the Thermaic Gulf. Since we’re in the area, our first stop will be the Church of Saint Argyrios of Epanomitis. Arrival at the winery, where we will have the opportunity to tour the modern production and bottling facilities of some of our country’s most famous wine labels. A notable part of the winery is the Gerovassiliou Wine Museum. In 1976, Vangelis Gerovassiliou, driven by a particular interest in promoting the wine-growing heritage, began collecting viticulture, winemaking, bottling, and cooperage tools from around the world. In particular, his collection of corkscrews, which began in the 1970s, numbers more than 2,600 items and ranks him among the world’s largest collectors of corkscrews.
After sampling the famous Malagouzia, Xinomavro, Sauvignon Blanc, or Chardonnay, we’ll head out for lunch. Known for its bustling seaside promenade, Peraia offers visitors the perfect blend of relaxation in the sun and culinary delights. Enjoy coffee, ice cream, and your meal right by the water at a variety of taverns, restaurants, and meze bars where you can find everything from traditional seafood meze made with fresh fish caught daily—such as grilled sardines, marinated anchovies, and fried baby squid, to international flavors and classic street food. Return to Larissa filled with sun, sea, and wine!!
